London based artist Christopher John Ball is truly a man of many talents. Besides being a widely exhibited and published fine arts photographer who has won many awards, he’s a playwright, writer, campaigner, reviewer, publisher, curator, arts juror and lecturer, too.
Thanks to his wide range of interests, Christopher sees a connection between photography and literature. It should come as no surprise to find that his photographs are often made to work in series so as to create a visual narrative. He’s rarely working from astudios. In addition he often uses non-conventional photographic equipment, such as pin-hole, Holga, Diana, home-made, adapted and vintage cameras and alternative photographic processes, such as the cyanotype, to create a specific aesthetic.
