Simon Bolz (35) studied design at the FAKD. He lives and works in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He says: “My goal is to create fantasies, pictures for your mental cinema screen. In my works it is all about the beauty and appeal of the female body without crossing the line. It’s a thin line and this balancing act is an exciting challenge for me.”
Characteristics of Simon’s work are unusual, refreshing poses that create passionate images. He always focuses on a single subject in a single situation and capture only what’s necessary to convey a message that won’t overstimulate you.
Simon believes reduction is the key in an age of information overload as it offers the visual experience of sanctuary. For this reason he reduces the amount of colours used and adjusts the styling and accessories to
keep the images clean and simple in a way.
Since 2006, Simon had around 80 models to pose nude in front of his camera. When we asked Simon about what makes him happy regarding his works, he answered: “Trust me, it’s very easy to arouse men with nude photographs, but when I receive compliments from women on my photographs, it makes me happy.”
